Getting your bike to the start

The 2027 route is set to start with a prologue at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, move through Ceres and Tulbagh, and finish in Wellington. Teams usually arrive a few days early for registration and bike checks, so have the bike delivered to your accommodation in Somerset West, Stellenbosch or Cape Town, or to the bike shop or mechanic preparing it for you.

Mountain bikes are R800 one way. Send spare wheels in a wheel box (R390) and your kit in a kit bag (R350) on the same booking.

Getting it home from Wellington

After the final stage, box the bike and hand it to the courier at your accommodation in Wellington, Paarl or Cape Town, or wherever your bike is staying. Book the return leg in the same booking and choose a collection date from the Monday after the finish. The return collection address can be different from where we delivered the bike.

Use a proper address. Race villages and finish venues are not delivery addresses. Use your accommodation, a friend or a bike shop, and make sure someone will be there to hand over the box.

Tips for Epic teams

  • Book both partners’ bikes in one booking if they leave from the same address.
  • Photograph the bike before you pack it, and again when it arrives.
  • Put a note with your name and phone number inside the box as well as the waybill outside.
  • Optional cover is R180 per item. For a race bike, it is worth it.

Questions riders ask

Can you move my bike between stage towns?

You ride your bike between stage towns during the race, so our job is the trip to the Western Cape and the trip home. We deliver between street addresses, not to race villages.

What about spare wheels and kit?

Add a wheel box (R390) or a kit bag (R350) to the same booking. Each one needs its own waybill on the outside.

I am coming from overseas. Can you help?

We deliver within South Africa only. Many international riders use us for the local legs, for example from a friend or bike shop in Johannesburg to the Western Cape, and back again after the race.

Racing the Epic?

Get the bike there and home again, and focus on the riding.
