Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply when you use the GearGo website or book a delivery through GearGo. By placing a booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.

1. Our service

GearGo arranges door-to-door courier services for bicycles, wheel boxes, golf equipment and other approved leisure gear within South Africa. Courier transport is performed by third-party courier partners. Economy delivery normally takes approximately 3–5 business days after collection, but this is an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery time.

2. Booking information

You must provide complete and accurate collection, delivery, contact, parcel and payment information. You are responsible for obtaining permission before using a bicycle shop, business, event venue or another person’s address. Someone must be available to release the parcel at collection and receive it at delivery.

3. Collection dates

A preferred collection date is a request and remains subject to processing and courier availability. Same-day collection may only be possible for bookings completed before 12:00 and is never guaranteed. Collections do not ordinarily take place on Sundays or South African public holidays.

4. Packaging and waybills

The customer is responsible for ensuring that every item is completely enclosed in a strong, suitable box and adequately protected for normal courier handling. A standard cardboard bicycle box is acceptable when properly packed. The waybill supplied by GearGo must be printed and attached securely to the outside of the parcel before collection. Old labels and barcodes must be removed or covered.

GearGo is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate, unsuitable or defective packaging, or by items moving inside a box. This does not exclude any right or remedy that may not lawfully be excluded under South African law.

5. Prohibited and restricted items

Parcels may not contain fuel, oil, gas canisters, hazardous substances, explosives, illegal goods, loose lithium batteries or any item prohibited by the courier or applicable law. E-bike batteries may require prior written approval and special handling. GearGo or the courier may refuse, return or hold a non-compliant parcel, with resulting costs charged to the customer where lawful.

6. Prices and additional charges

Prices displayed at checkout are based on the information supplied. Additional charges may apply if the declared dimensions, weight, address classification or contents are incorrect, or if an address falls in a remote or special-service area. We will communicate material additional charges before processing them where reasonably possible.

7. Payment

Payment is processed securely by the payment provider displayed at checkout. A booking is not confirmed until payment has been successfully completed and accepted. GearGo does not store full card details.

8. Tracking and delivery

Tracking information is sent after the courier booking and waybill have been created. Tracking may become active only after the first courier scan. Delivery estimates may be affected by weather, service disruptions, inaccessible addresses, incorrect details, public holidays and other circumstances outside GearGo’s reasonable control.

9. Inspection, claims and damage

The recipient should inspect the parcel on delivery and record visible damage or tampering with the courier before signing where possible. Report loss or damage to bookings@geargo.co.za as soon as reasonably possible, with the booking reference, waybill, photographs of the packaging and contents, proof of value and any other requested information. Claims are subject to the courier’s and insurer’s applicable procedures and time limits.

10. Optional insurance

Where offered, optional insurance is available for declared values up to R30,000 and is subject to the insurer’s terms, exclusions, evidence requirements and approval. Insurance does not cover damage caused by poor or unsuitable packaging and does not automatically guarantee payment of a claim.

11. Returns and repeat journeys

A return journey requires a separate courier leg, waybill and tracking number. Unless the booking expressly includes both legs, the customer must make a second booking with the collection and delivery addresses reversed.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GearGo is not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of use, missed events, loss of income or delays beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law.

13. Privacy

We process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including sharing necessary booking details with payment, courier, hosting, email and support providers.

14. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when a booking is placed applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.

15. Contact

Questions may be sent to bookings@geargo.co.za.
